2023 Giro d’Sardinia Stage Race Camp in Tuscany and Sardinia, Italy

 April 20-29, 2023

This 9-day cycling camp includes participation in a true European 6-day Stage Race. Campers will race for the Max Lelli team in official team kit (included in the cost of the camp).

After two days of training and team-building based out of Max Lelli’s Tuscan estate, Il Raduno, campers travel to the island of Sardinia for the rare experience of racing in a European Stage Race on an Italian team along side of 14-time Tour de France rider, Max Lelli. Options available for all ability levels from serious racers to casual cyclists.

There is the added bonus opportunity to an extra day of sight-seeing in Rome at the end of the camp.

        • Extend your trip with a day of sight-seeing in Rome.
  • Travel
    • You will purchase your airline tickets on your own
      • Plan to arrive in Rome no later than 10:00 AM on Thursday, April 20
      • Plan to leave Rome no earlier than 10:30 AM on Saturday, April 29 unless you are staying the extra day in Rome, in which case you will book your ticket to leave on Sunday, April 30
    • All airport and race transfers are included in your camp fees

Max LelliAbout Max Lelli

Max Lelli is an ex-professional Italian born in Manciano (near Grosseto, in Tuscany). He participated in 14 Tours de France, cycling alongside such legends as Argentin, Cipollini, Fondriest, Bartoli, and Casagrande. He won a team time trial at the Tour de France with the team Ceramiche Arriostea. At the Giro d’Italia his best finish was 3rd overall in 1991 (and 4th in 1993), winning the Monviso and Selva d Valgardena stages as well as the white jersey as best young rider of the Giro. He participated in three world championships, won on two occasions the Giro di Toscana, and became the Italian time trial champion. In 1996 he became the first Italian to win the Tour of Portugal. In 1997 Max won the most important race in the USA: the Core States Championship in Philadelphia.

 

About Randy Warren and Warren Cycling:Sorano

Randy, a USA Cycling level 1 coach, has been coaching cyclists and cycling teams since 1987. A multiple (and current) Masters National Champion, Randy has raced in the Masters World Championships in Italy (placing 16th in 2022) and in Russia (winning one race and placing 4thoverall in 1994). Randy has been leading cycling camps since 2003 helping cyclists to experience great riding, training and racing all over America and in Tuscany and Sardinia, Italy.

  • Riding 
    • Bring your own bike with you for this trip. There are 2 TT’s in this race (ITT and TTT), so you may want to bring clip-on aero bars and/or aero helmet, etc.


  • Meals
    • We are fortunate to have home cooked, authentic Italian food while we are at Il Raduno
    • Meals during the Giro d’Sardinia are at the Race Hotel
